Mental Health and Sport Training for PLSC

Welcome


Please join us (age 16 and up) for "Mental Health and Sport - ACT Training", presented by Margaret Domka, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the U.S. Center for Mental Health and Sport. (See bio below)

This very timely and important mental health awareness training will be held at the Savage ELC in the Cottonwood Classroom - 6:00-8:15 pm on March 28th, 2023. for participants 16 and older.

Participation will be capped at 40 people.

Jordyn Clark Foundation, a Minnesota non-profit corporation was created to  honor Jordyn Clark, a compassionate and affectionate individual who was enthusiastic about soccer, goalkeeping, coaching, and spreading kindness to all. Through our efforts, we aim to raise awareness about suicide prevention and break down the barriers surrounding mental health and well-being. Margaret Domka, Co-founder and Executive Director of the U.S. Center for Mental Health & Sport, is committed to bringing optimum mental health to sport communities around the country through ACT! Training, the development of mental health and sport resources, and by establishing connections with professional mental health service providers who also have a background in sport. In supporting this work, she is finishing a PhD at Clemson University where the focus of her research is mental health and sport. Margaret also has a significant background in soccer as she was a FIFA referee for 10 years, refereed at the FIFA Women's World Cup Canada 2015 and continues to officiate disability soccer both nationally and internationally including cerebral palsy soccer, blind soccer, and Special Olympics. In 2017 she was inducted into the Wisconsin Soccer Hall of Fame for her contributions to the game as a referee. Margaret was also named a United Soccer Coaches College All-America player during her time as an undergraduate student.
